The Tamagic languages are notable for the extensive use made of nominalized clauses and nominalizations generally within their grammars. This state of affairs is most fully developed in Chantyal. A brief summary of this topic is provided in the second section of this essay. Mainly, this paper aims to discuss some issues concerning the historical development of nominalizations within the Tamangic family. In Section 2, the author rovides a bit of background information concerning the form and function of nominalizations within this group, followed by a discussion in Section 3 of some historical developments affecting nominalizations.
